Imagine the scene. A busy shift started at 08.30am.

Most of the team were there ready to start on time.

But one team member doesn’t make it to their work station until 08.40. Previously they have usually been on time

What would you say? (You can choose up to 3)

Nothing - it's not a big deal
Nothing - I would give them a chance to apologise and explain
Are you OK?
You're late. Is everything OK?
I am sorry you couldn't make the start of the shift - but don't worry, I appreciate how many hours you put in. (with meaning)
I am sorry you couldn't make it here for 8.30 - we covered for you though (with meaning)
I am sorry you couldn't make it for 08.30 - but don't worry, we did your work for you (with sarcasm)
Late? or Leaves on the line? (let them know I noticed and see what they say)
I'd follow the Workplace Guidance and Lateness Policy
